Editor working on EditShare Ultimate EFS Hybrid storage

Performance and capacity, combined

Ultimate EFS Hybrid

NVMe performance and high-capacity storage, combined in a single 2U system, so teams can match storage speed to each stage of production.

EditShare Ultimate EFS Hybrid 2U node

Two tiers, one system

Speed where it matters, capacity where you need it.

A perfect balance of extreme speed and massive capacity. The Hybrid runs two independent storage tiers in one 2U chassis: an NVMe tier for high-bitrate editing and finishing, and an HDD tier for active projects, nearline storage, and growing media libraries. Work at NVMe speeds when you need them, while keeping cost-effective capacity for everything else.

Built for demanding workflows

The future and the present, fused.

The Hybrid merges next-generation NVMe performance with the cost-effective capacity of HDD, all driven by the media-aware EditShare File System. Start UHD projects on NVMe, generate proxies, and use EditShare's Storage Goals architecture to migrate mediaspaces to HDD, then shift back to NVMe for final finishing with the source content, all in the same box.

Unrivaled speed and capacity

122TB of NVMe. 192TB of HDD. One node.

The best of both worlds, in a single 2U. The NVMe tier delivers a robust 10 GB/s aggregate read throughput for uncompressed, file-per-frame, and Multi-ISO UHD captures. The HDD tier holds stream counts comparable to an Ultimate EFS 210, ideal for typical compressed workflows and vast, cost-effective capacity.

Extreme power in action

One node, every kind of job.

From multistream UHD ingest to full film schools, the Hybrid flexes between speed and capacity on demand.

Multistream UHD ingest. Capture full-frame UHD across multiple channels at the highest bit rate directly into an EFS mediaspace, and use NVMe bandwidth to process 4K HDR streams while proxies write to HDD.

Hundreds of concurrent users. A single 2U node powers hundreds of editors, broadcasters, and students, handling UHD edits on NVMe and compressed broadcast workflows on HDD, without slowdowns.

A two-tier finishing workflow. Start UHD projects on NVMe, generate proxies, and use Storage Goals to migrate mediaspaces to HDD. Once editorial is approved, shift back to NVMe for final finishing.

Built-in DR and backup. Add a 60NL alongside the Hybrid and you have disaster recovery and backup for all of your content, next to your fast finishing storage.

A greener, smarter choice

Two tiers, one efficient footprint.

Designed with efficiency in mind, the Hybrid reduces heat output, density, and power consumption, lowering operational costs for studios. Its hybrid design lets multiple creators share one node, minimizing hardware and energy use while delivering superior results.

Built on the EditShare platform

More than storage.

Every Hybrid node includes the media management, AI, automation, and monitoring tools of the full EditShare platform.

Media-aware EFS

Both tiers run on the media-aware EditShare File System and the EFS Native Client, outperforming legacy SMB or NFS with ultra-low overhead.

FLOW asset management

FLOW handles ingest, cataloging, search, and proxy workflows, with 10/2 ingest licenses included out of the box.

FLOW AI analysis

Automated media analysis on ingest makes every frame searchable, with no manual logging required.

Powerful automation

A 10-pack Automation engine turns repetitive, multi-step processes into customizable, hands-off workflows.

ARK archiving

Automate LTO backup and retrieval with proxies kept online for quick access to archived content.

Guardian monitoring

Real-time analytics for EFS and FLOW keep an eye on performance, capacity, and usage across the system.

When Hybrid makes sense

Built for teams that need both.

The Hybrid fits the workflows where all-NVMe is overkill and all-HDD isn't fast enough.

Mixed project loads

Teams managing multiple projects with different performance needs, all from one node.

Occasional high-bitrate work

Facilities that only sometimes need NVMe speed for finishing or high-resolution capture.

Cost-conscious performance

Environments where deploying all-NVMe storage simply isn't cost-effective.

Performance and capacity

Workflows that need both extreme speed and vast, cost-effective capacity in a single system.
